Design for Urban Living

Fire Island

Posted on August 29th, by David Bjorngaard in Here/There, Inhabit, Knowledge. No Comments

This Labor Day I will be thinking of my friends heading off to Fire Island and P-Town. Celebrating the last days of summer in casual coastal style. The sun and beach, new friends, enjoying life. I’ve been to Provincetown {in fact I got married there}, and I love being able to ride around town on bikes, hike out to the dunes for a swim, and then later walk into town for dinner and a drink. For a mid-west boy this is the good life. So I was so happy to open my copy of World of Interiors to see this home on Fire Island. It is the perfect beach house: open, unpretentious, and cozy. I love it…I hope you do to! Have a great Labor Day…wherever you celebrate!

Scandinavian inspired still life.

Beach kitchens should be simple and geared towards entertaining. I love the Alavor Aalto pendant lights through Artek.
